It’s Official: Metalcraft Got into M.I.T!

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is one of the most renowned research institutes on the planet. Along with a few other high-grade research universities (Harvard, Yale, Berkeley, Stanford, Columbia), it is also one of the most disproportionately successful incubators for entrepreneurs in America. As part of that reputation, MIT hosts an annual Enterprise Forum that allows entrepreneurs and technological innovators to establish connections with one another, as well as participate in a full range of path-breaking seminars. The session that we’re most particularly interested in attending is the Auto ID and Sensing Solutions (RFID) Special Interest Group.

In between strolling the campus grounds, we’ll be attending two key RFID-related panels, as well as presenting our technology as one of 40 tabletop presentations. In addition, one of our RFID technical specialists will be participating in one of the two headliner presentations.

The two panels, the first titled “The Internet of Things,” and the second one called, “NFC Meet the Internet of Things,” detail the rapid development of a technology that increasingly blurs the line between virtual and real. We’re looking forward to learning more about the academic aspects of the industry we serve, as well as gaining practical insight into what directions that we should be taking our company RFID-wise. Not only that, but we’re always looking to meet new, friendly faces in our swiftly emerging field. Hope to see you in Cambridge come March 28th!
